October 20th: What is Going on in Your Class Room this week?

What are you doing this year? Or at the very least this week?

Part of the mission of this blog is to be able to share what we are doing in our classes with each other.

So please take a moment and share one goal that you might have for your students for the year or at the very least what you are doing this week in one of your classes.

Welcome to our new Blog.

The instructional committee is starting a blog where we (all the teachers) at HMS can share what we are doing in our classrooms, reading about education, and general ideas that we might all be interested in.

Our mission statement for our committee is:

     'To improve instructional effectiveness for the purpose of student engagement and performance.'

As a part of this goal we are planning on doing the following with your help:

a. put up a map in the staff room where all staff members can add their ideas
b. create and share a blog with all staff members so that we can share ideas
c. create a mission statement for our committee

So to start this off here is a list of some of the things we would like to accomplish with this blog.

1. open conversations
2. share what we are doing in the classroom
3. share what works for us
4. share ideas that we find as we go to conferences, general reading, or classes we are taking
5. a way for self reflection within the community
