VOD: Video of the day is my instructional strategy to help students learn to take free hand notes with very little teacher direction. I show a very short video each day and have students take down notes. Names, dates, general ideas, and draw pictures on the topic. Then I ask for students to share briefly after the video. The whole activity takes less than 7 minutes. They really enjoy it and have become very good at it.
